I wanted to start doing this. When I went to a family farewell they had a handout in there programs. It showed a week by week plan for food storage. I really thought this was great. I'm going to do two weeks at a time. I'm posting it to help me remember and to help others if interested.
First 2 weeks: 10 boxes of mac and cheese and 8 cans of tomato soup
6 cans of cream of mushroom soup and 1- .2.5 lb of peanut butter.
6 cans of cream of mushroom soup and 1- .2.5 lb of peanut butter.
If you don't like Tomato soup then buy 8 cans of something else. Also this is for a family of 5 . Always remember to store Water , Remember to get coupons for things and watch for sale. Also remember you do not have to buy name brand items, store brands are just as good. have fun and don't stress out. If anyone knows of any great deals please PLEASE tell me.
O the goal is by the end of the year our family will have a one year worth of food storage.
FYI: Maceys is having a sale on Mac and cheese 2 PACKS for 6.00 (packs have 4 boxes in it)
I also found coupons for soups and Peanut Butter. I have added it all up and this trip will cost me about 18.00 not to bad and again this is for 2 weeks so less then 10.00 for this week.
Cool! I think I have this plan in my email, but I haven't looked at it yet (someone sent it to me a while ago). Anyway, I plan to do better with that this year. Thanks for the reminder!

ReplyDeleteWe've got a pretty good supply, but always adding to it. Keep a look out for the caselot sales at Harmons.
I might have to try this idea. We got some stored up, but there is always room for more.
